Well as i have already wrote in my previous blog.....Roger Federer is perhaps the most talented and gifted atheletes of modern sports era......His shot making and the sheer quality of his play resembles a artist at the peak of his ability.....The elegence his game oozes is somethin which can make even his fiercest critics admire him........Just a glance at his singlehanded backhand is sufficient to rate him as an all time great tennis player......
But then does being a great tennis player,if not the greatest ,make him a great sportsman ........Lets check it out....
He established his superiority in an era where players where not even one-fourth as good as him...........The sheer god gift got him the rich haul of grand slam tournaments......
Is talent and dominance the only criteria for rating a great sportsman......Against a averagely talented player like rafael nadal(w.r.t. himself) with a big heart and amazing competetiveness,he has a career record of 5-8........The way he has capitulated to him on clay has raised questions on his ability to fight......Talent is something which you are born with......But the sheer determination to fight,desire to win,the ability to come out of a hole......this are some of the qualities which a great sportsman inculcates......and i dont find this stuff as part of roger federers repotoire.......
